Warranty Book

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Before you purchase a Dometic Care Extended Warranty, you should consider whether the Extended Warranty is worthwhile for you given the protection you already have under the Australian Consumer Law and the manufacturer’s warranty.

Buying a Dometic Care Extended Warranty offers you a level of certainty because you know that there is a specific minimum period of time that you will have coverage for, regardless of whether or not the Consumer Guarantees continue to apply.
You are not obliged to purchase an Extended Warranty; we simply want to give YOU the choice.

Cooling off period

We want to make sure that you’re happy with your Dometic Care Extended Warranty purchase. If you decide for any reason that you’d like to cancel your Extended Warranty you can do this within 21 days of your purchase of it. Just contact the dealer you purchased the product from and they will refund the cost of the Extended Warranty.

Free replacement if we can’t fix your product

We will always try to repair your product, but if it is uneconomical to repair in the Extended Warranty period or unable to be repaired, we’ll replace it with a product with similar features and functions. If we cannot repair or offer a suitable replacement, we may offer a cash settlement.

Extended Warranty is transferable

If you decide to sell your caravan or motorhome, you can transfer your Extended Warranty quickly and easily to the new owners by contacting the Dometic Customer Care Team on 1800 21 21 21. They will organise the transfer to the new owners at no cost to you.

There are some exclusions that apply to the Dometic Care Extended Warranty. We recommend prior to purchase that you refer to the Terms and Conditions at the end of this document for full details.

Know your rights within Australian Consumer Law

From 1 January 2011, all consumer products are automatically covered by the Consumer Guarantees detailed in the Australian Consumer Law. This law has been designed to protect you when you buy goods and services. Every time you purchase, lease or hire a good or service anywhere in Australia, you are automatically given certain rights. The law requires that your product must be free from defects and do what it’s meant to do. If this is not the case, you may be entitled to a remedy. The type of remedy depends on the circumstances but may include repair, or for major faults, replacement of goods or a refund. These rights are known as Consumer Guarantees. The right to a remedy will depend on factors such as the age, usage, type and price of the product. It’s important to us that you know what your rights are. So if you would like further information about your rights and the Consumer Guarantees you can visit accc.gov.au.
